How we got the English Bible, translation overview, Q & A

Vine & Branches invites you to learn how we got our English Bible. In addition, there will be an overview of the differences between the more popular English translations (NIV, ESV, NLT, King James, New King James, NASB, etc). We will cap it off with a question and answer period.

The presenter will be Mike Petersen of Tyndale House Publishers. Here's Mike's bio:

Mike Petersen is presently a District Manager for Tyndale House Publishers. From 1992 till 2000 he owned Multnomah Graphics/Printing, Inc., a company that produced Bibles and biblical reference tools for the industry. Mike and John Kohlenberger produced many of the Bible products for Zondervan, Thomas Nelson, Broadman & Holman, Oxford and Eardman’s. During this time Mike also produced some facsimile copies of ancient biblical manuscripts and fell in love with that genre. This ‘bug’ has prompted him to study Bible history. Following a heart attack at the end of 1999, Mike shut down Multnomah Graphics and went to work for Tyndale where he represents them to 13 states. He still dabbles in ancient biblical manuscripts as well.

We are having it at First Baptist Church of Lodi because we don't have enough room at the store to accommodate the amount of people we anticipate showing up.
Please invite anyone who is interested in the subject. It's free for everyone!
